Overall, research has shown that the use of digital technology within the classroom environment can have both, a positive as well as negative impact on student achievement. Largely, research has shown that technology however, can have a positive effect on academic excellence, if used in an appropriate manner that is, by ensuring that students do not use technology either too excessively or insufficiently, but in a moderate and balanced manner, to accompany their use of other conventional resources, to support their studies. Although research conducted suggests that the schools with the best academic performances do not use technology, improvements in performances were evident amongst students who used technology, in nations where technology had been arranged in to lesson periods, for the sake of research.
